Phone Fields

Phone fields are used to capture non-numeric numbers, such as phone and numbers and account numbers (that only use digits). Valid characters for phone fields are:

• digits zero to nine: 0 - 9
• brackets: ( )
• plus symbol: +
• dash symbol: -
• space character: " "

In addition to gathering phone/fax numbers that may include a plus symbol and/or brackets, a phone field should be used (rather than a number field) where the answer might start with a zero digit.

Minimum and Maximum Characters

The minimum and maximum characters property set the min/max number of characters that are accepted in a response. For example, an account that number that has 8 to 10 digits.
